Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Beverage Advertisement Hurts Bengali Sentiments; Petition Filed Against The Actor- Read REPORT
Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddique, who is currently going through a divorce case and custody with his wife Aaliya Siddiqui, has found himself in another legal trouble. He recently starred in a beverage advertisement, where he is seen waiting for a train while holding a soft drink in his hand. A Kolkata-based lawyer Dibyayan Banerji, has filed a complaint against Nawaz for hurting the sentiments of the Bengali community.

As reported by Times Now News, Banerji in his petition mentions that while he doesn’t have an issue with the Hindi version of the commercial advertisement, the dubbed-Bengali version hasn’t gone down well with many Bengalis. In his complaint the lawyer states that the ad cracks a joke that has allegedly hurt the “sentiments of the community.” The mentioned joke is, “shoja anguley ghee na uthley, Bangali khali petey ghumiye porey (Bengalis sleep hungry if they don’t get anything easily.)” ALSO READ: Nawazuddin Siddiqui-Aaliya Siddiqui DIVORCE: Actor’s Estranged Wife Reveals He Has ‘Solved Some Things And My Kids Are Happy’
